KTACYA one-day sports meet held

Dimapur, September 22: The Kohima Town Angami Youth Association (KTACYA) organized a one-day tournament wherein St. Francis de Sales (SFS) parish bagged the overall champions with 670 points while St. Mary’s Parish, Cathedral finished runners-up with 300 points at St.Mary’s Higher Secondary School ground on Saturday in Kohima .
Various disciplines such as penalty-shootout, basketball, volleyball, arm wrestling and tug of war were part of the tournament.
Attending the meet as chief guest, Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, Vicar General Kohima Diocese hosted the KTACYA flag and declared the tournament open. In the meantime, oath of taking was administered by Vimetha Vincent while Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes, parish priest SFS invoked God’s blessings.
During the closing ceremony, the players of both women’s and men’s volleyball teams were also announced to represent KTACYA in the forthcoming Angami Catholic Youth Association ( apex body ) sports meet from November 2nd – 3rd at Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama.
Special numbers were presented by male members of Cathedral ACYA and Jennifer Mero, vote of thanks was delivered by Vikeyie Robert while Kuotseituo John, President KTACYA and K Andrew Tepa chaired the inaugural and closing function respectively.
Meanwhile, Rev.Fr.Peter Pithungo Enni, assistant parish priest of SFS gave away prizes to the winners and also pronounced the benediction.
Both the two associations of the town region – Angami Catholic Youth Association of St.Francis de Sales Parish and Cathedral Angami Catholic Youth Association together took part in the one-day sports meet.
