KSUD observes Fresher’s Meet

Dimapur, November 21: The Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) on Saturday observed “Fresher’s Meet cum Parting Social” here at Town Hall, Dimapur, in the presence of T. Musho Lam, Office Superintendent, Directorate of Prison as guest of honour and N. Bongkhao Konyak, Advisor Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) as the special guest.


Speaking on the occasion, Konyak shared experiences of his student life and the sacrifices he had to make to receive his degrees, and encouraged the students to look beyond the government job.
He said that not everyone is going to get a government job and entrepreneurship is a more liberating career choice than settling for a government job. The Advisor urged the students to establish links to the other parts of the state and country and while being in Dimapur observe and learn from the entrepreneurial culture here.
Mentioning how the international border between India and Myanmar creates difficulties for the students, communities, churches, he said that the eastern areas need people like them and expressed optimism that the area but can be an international business centre.
Celebrated under the theme “Towards New Horizon”, during the programme K. Songmo and Motsoi Meyo delivered speeches on behalf of the fresher’s and outgoing students respectively.
