Dimapur, September 18: The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) and the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Mon Unit have decided that all private schools in Mon District will give Rs 100 monthly fee concession for 7 months from May to November 2020, and complete exemption of monthly fee for the month of December 2020.
However, there is no objection for any parents willing to pay the full amount of fee.
In a consultative meeting held on September 17, the two unions also decided that salaries of teachers will not be affected due to the fees concession.
KSU general secretary Phoe Konyak said the fees concession is only for Class Nursery to 10. There will also be exemption of fees for co-curricular activities.
“This resolution must be effectively implemented by all the private schools under Mon district. Any school failing to comply with this order/resolution, the union shall compel to initiate action,” he said.
The union appreciated the valuable service and contribution of teachers towards the society and community and assured cooperation to the teachers and schools on any matter.
Accepting that due to the pandemic almost all private schools are facing untold hardship and difficulties, the union assured to appeal/pursue a proposal with the State Government for grant-in-aid for private schools. It also appealed to all owners of schools and hostel building for relaxation and concession of rent/fare.
