Dimapur, December 19: The offices of Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) & Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) was officially inaugurated at the Super Market Complex, Kohima by Kohima Village Council chairman, Dr Neiphi Kire on December 16.
Dr Neiphi Kire congratulated the officers, staffs and the team involved for completing the project and having the office in the heart of Kohima town. He said that since the declaration of Nagaland State in 1963 “we as villagers of the Kohima village welcome every tribes from different districts to live in the capital city and it is our forefathers wish and desire that we all live together in peace and harmony and enjoy each other’s fellowship as we go about in our daily business.” In the coming years, the town will have to expand and ‘we have to cope with the growing population and so there needs a lot to be done,’ he added.
Stating that sometime back the Kohima Smart City was rated as one of the most unlivable city in the country, but now Dr Kire said the city has improved in many ways and further expressed happiness for various beautification programme undertaken so far. He also assured that the Kohima village will extend its best cooperation and support towards making Kohima city one of the finest cities in the country.
Kovi Meyase, Administrator KMC & CEO, KSCDL stated that it was a significant day for both KSCDL & KMC because it was the first completed project of Kohima Smart City, which was achieved in a record time of 11 months, one month ahead of actual completion date.
A brief report on the project was presented by GM, Project KSDCL, Er. Theruovituo Pienyu while dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, Pastor Union Baptist Church, Kogima. (Page News Service)
