
Dimapur, March 13: The Kohima Science College, Jotsoma celebrated its Origin Fest, 2023 on March 10 at their college auditorium.
Speaking at the event, Major General Vikas Lakhera, Inspector General (North) who was the Special Guest, maintained that “our roots are our past, it gives us strength to our present and secures our future.”
He further maintained that those who forget where they come from are doomed to fail. Lakhera further appreciated the college for taking up such events in order to preserve their heritage.
Pointing out the diversity in culture, he maintained that these should unite us, and not divide us. He also advised the students to work hard as nothing comes free in this world.
The Major General exhorted the students to aim and work hard to achieve what they have set out to.
The welcome address was given by Dr. Wenyitso Kapfo, Convener of the event, while a play on Jina & Etiben was presented by the Ao Students Union. Angami Students Union also presented two songs. The event also saw cart racing, stilt racing, folk tales, folk dance, open mic, concert and many more. The Principal Temjen Wapang and the Lakhera flagged off the go cart. The event culminated with a concert with special appearance by Neipevono Lhoushe, who is a member of TAFMA, who won the third position in online singing competition- Aroma of Christ hosted by Manipur State in the genre of country, POP, 90’s Indie.
It can be mentioned here that the fest is going to be an annual event of the college.
