
Dimapur, February 27: The Kipi Qomi Welfare Society, Thilixu, Dimapur organized Road Safety Advocacy Programme on February 25 at Purana Bazar Dimapur where around 25 volunteers were involved for distribution of pamphlets.
According to report in India, about 1.4 lakh persons are killed in road crashes every year, while many more get injured and disabled for life. Youth in the age group of 15 to 24 years comprise 33% of the total fatalities. To curb, the Kipi Qomi Welfare Society has conducted the Awareness under the guideline of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and to give an opportunity to all stakeholders to contribute to the cause of road safety.
During the awareness, the traffic police has given full support to our organization Following traffic rules can help curb road mishaps, he added.
