KPC conducts sports meet


Kohima, October 24: The Kohima Press Club (KPC) held its annual sports day on October 23 at the State Indoor Stadium here.

The disciplines played were badminton, table tennis and arm wrestling for both men and women.
Medo Dzeyie of Capi emerged as the champion after defeating Apisu Keditsu from NM Cable in the badminton men’s singles final match.
Apisu Keditsu and Max Menuseo Khieya of Eastern Mirror bagged the badminton men’s doubles after defeating opponents Zhovezo Resu, a freelance journalist and Jembu Sangma from KAT Cable in the final.
N Khayi of DDK and Alice Yhoshü of Hindustan Times won the mixed badminton doubles after defeating Emilo Konyak of Nagaland Post and Narayan Bahadur of PTI.
Medolenuo Ambrocia of EastMojo defeated Emilo Konyak in the final match of badminton women’s singles.
Esuihangle Liegise of DIPR and Alice Yhoshü defeated Medolenuo Ambrocia and Asonuo of AIR in the badminton women’s doubles final.
In the men’s table tennis, N Khayi defeated Apisu Keditsu in the final.
N Khayi and Alice Yhoshü defeated Narayan Bahadur and Esuihangle Liegise in the table tennis mixed doubles final match.
In the men’s arm wrestling final, Medo Dzeyie beat his colleague Ketouvilie Kire who is also from Capi.
Loreni Tsanglao Pfozhe of DDK beat Esuihangle Liegise in the women’s arm wrestling final.
The sports meet of KPC, oldest press club in Nagaland, was conducted by the organising committee led by Keneido Basil Peseyie.

KPC vice president Asa Seyie distributed prizes to the winners during the closing function held at The Heritage.
