DIMAPUR, JUNE 30: Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) has been granted the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), which qualifies the institute to be upgraded from one that provides Diploma programme to Degree Engineering programme.
For all technical institutions approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the NBA is a pre-requisite for upgrade, expansion and enhancement of enrolment etc., according to a DIPR bulletin.
The Directorate of Technical Education, it stated, has extended gratitude to the Principal of KPA, staff and faculties, students and all stakeholders for their relentless effort in helping the institute obtain accreditation in Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for a period of 3 academic years, from 2021 to 2024.
It stated that the accreditation could be made possible because of the constant moral and physical support received from Minister for Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along and Adviser to CM, Technical Education & Election, Medo Yhokha.
Under their visionary leadership, the Institute had worked with zeal and determination pulling all available resources. The Department also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for granting additional fund for facelift of the institute in respect of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu and Government Polytechnic Kohima, to go for NBA.
The Government Polytechnic, Kohima (GPK) is also expected to follow suit and work for obtaining NBA accreditation. The Department also recalled the tremendous contribution made by the coordinator of NBA, late Vizekhol Rhutso, Principal-in-charge of Government Polytechnic, Aboi, Mon.
