Dimapur, February 3: The Jotsoma Youth Organization (JYO) has agreed to withdraw its ultimatum to stop water supply to Kohima following assurance from Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to develop Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma and appoint Grade IV staff under PHED, which remained unfulfilled for the last 45 years.
Informing this, the Jotsoma Village Council (JVC) expressed gratitude to the Chief Minsiter for his matured and able leadership in solving the impasse.
“…our Hon’ble Chief Minister, understanding the gravity of the situation immediately intervened and reassured to develop the school with additional buildings for class rooms and other infrastructure within the coming financial year. The reassurance was made in a meeting with the Villagers held on 1st February, 2021. He further committed to create 12 Gr-IV posts to be reserved for the villagers and share the revenue generated through water supply with the Village,” the JVC said in a release.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister and MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro, the JVC appealed the public not to take the matter otherwise as the issue was not only for the village but for the betterment of the society and particularly for the student community as majority of the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma are from outside the village.
The JVC also thanked the JYO for taking up the issue.
