Dimapur, March 14: The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to Deputy Commissioner, Kohima to demolish all constructions including PHE Water reservoir, RCEMPA Building, Doordashan Kendra Kohima and all other illegal infrastructure in the illegally encroached land belonging to Kohima Science College within 40 days to reinstate the land which belongs rightfully to the College.
In a representation to DC Kohima, ANCSU president, Katho P Awomi and general secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso stated that total 200 acres of land which belongs to Kohima Science College (150 acres compensated and 50 acres donated by Jotsoma village) has been illegally encroached by multiple parties and currently only around 130 acres of land is with the college as observed till 2014.
The Union stated that it had resolved not to allow any kind of encroachments or other settlements that may compromise even an inch of land that belongs to the institution.
While giving 40 days time to the DC Kohima to demolish the illegal construction, the ANCSU also said if the district administration fails to take necessary action in delivering justice to the Union and Kohima Science College, it would be compelled to take its own course of action which may invite unpleasant confrontations from the students’ community.
