Kohima prepares for I-Day celebration


Dimapur, July 19: The Kohima district under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS held a meeting for the ensuing Independence Day 2019 celebration at DC’s Conference Hall on July 19. The meeting was held to chalk out work distribution and other arrangements in regard to Independence Day celebration 2019 at New Secretariat plaza, Kohima on 15th August 2019.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner informed the gathering that the meeting has been convened to look into various areas where the District Administration has been given the in-charge to coordinate with different departments and NGOs and called upon all the concerned departments/NGOs to ensure that the assigned responsibilities were taken care of.
The meeting reviewed the State level meeting minutes held in regard to the Independence Day celebration where DC sought confirmation from various departments/NGOs participation in different assigned works for the celebration and requested them to execute their assigned work successfully.
A total of eleven contingents from uniform category have been confirmed to participate in the ceremonial parade while seven contingents from different schools were entrusted to District Education Officer for confirmation of their participation. The meeting also decided to have parade rehearsal from 6th August 2019 at Secretariat Plaza starting from 8:00 A.M onwards, for which the transportation will be taken care by the district administration. Three Bands were also confirmed to participate in the ceremonial parade.
The meeting also discussed on various assigned works like cultural items, dance display, taekwondo, visitation of Institutions, football exhibition match, security arrangement, medical coverage, putting up of flag post, road maintenance, P.A equipments etc. for the successful celebration of Independence day 2019.
The meeting was attended by all the concerned officials from various departments and NGOs.
