Kohima police arrest 5 in Delhivery robbery case

Dimapur, July 27: Kohima police has arrested five persons in connection with the robbery at Delhivery Pvt. Ltd., an online logistic delivery service, near High School Junction, Kohima on July 22 by four armed miscreants.
Kohima police said on July 26 based on the discovery of incriminating evidence, three persons residing at Lazami village and one person from Phugoboto town were arrested for their involvement in the crime. Police identified the arrested persons as Henito Swu (37) ‘ss’ Razu Peyu of NSCN (IM); Qhevishe Sheqi (41), ‘ss’ Leacy of NSCN (IM); Chekiye Achumi (44) and Daniel Swu (27).
During the operation, the stolen money amounting to Rs 16, 61,700, four brand new RedMi 8A Dual mobile phones, 2 small arms (pistol), one magazine, 4 live rounds, 6 extortion slip/work permit of NSCN(IM) along with several incriminating items were recovered and seized from their possession. Further, the vehicle bearing registration number NL-01T/8856, which was used during the commission of the crime, was also recovered.
Police said preliminary investigation revealed the involvement of one of the staff of Delhivery Pvt. Ltd. Accordingly, one person identified as Vishika Swu (30), a resident of Naga Bazar colony, Kohima was also arrested for connivance in the instant case.
After observing all legal formalities, the accused persons have been remanded to police custody for the purpose of further investigation. Efforts are on to recover the remaining amount and the other stolen items.
Kohima police further warned of strict action against criminals and anti-social elements indulging in criminal activities and endangering public peace and security.
DGP congratulates
Meanwhile DGP Nagaland T John Longkumer, IPS has congratulated the Sr SP Kohima and his team for the successful detection and arrest of 5 hardened criminals and recovery of over Rs 16.61 lakhs in connection with the Kohima North PS robbery case.
“The most remarkable aspect of the investigation was the fact that, all the accused involved in the crime and recovery stolen property was done in less than 72 hours,” said the DGP.
He directed the SP Kohima to submit the list of all the officers and men involved in the investigation to the PHQ for suitable rewards and service book entries in recognition of the exemplary work done by all personnel involved.
