Dimapur, May 18: Under the aegis of National Health Mission, Kohima Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) team consisting of medical officer Dr. Rüyangulie Paphino along with lab-tech and nurse visited 15 villages and 3urban wards during the month of April & May as part of the MMU monthly tour.
A press release from district media officer, Kungcham Dailiam stated that different activities for various programmes were carried out. Lab tests for blood sugar, pregnancy test & HB% estimation for all ANC cases, collection of blood smears/RDT test for malaria and sputum collection for TB were part of the health services provided by MMU team. Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) importance were also imparted through health talks.
Altogether 529 OPDs were done at rural level and 114 OPDs at urban, ANC were also catered and analyzed inculcating with immunization.
During the month of April, the MMU team visited 11 villages – Dihoma, Pfuchama, Kigwema, Sakhabama, Kezo Basa, Kezo town, Kidima, Teichuma, Kijumetouma, Viphoma, Sechuma and urban with two wards – Chandmari & Kezekie. The monitoring tour is still in process covering 5 villages in the month of May – Kiruphe Basa, Kiruphe Bawe, Nachama, Peducha and 1 urban ward – Daklane with total OPDs of 80. The team will continue rendering health services covering villages in other blocks under the district, it informed.
