New Market beats Khriekesa FC
Kohima, July 24: Ziekezou Football Club continued to hold the top position at the end of the second round of the ongoing Kohima Football League organized by Kohima Town Club at Local Ground here.
Ziekezou have won both to remain on the top with 6 points while debutants Sechü-Zubza FC, who were in fourth position in the first round have jumped upto second position with one win and one draw. They have four points.
New Market Football Club, who were in fifth position have also moved up to third position winning their today’s match. Twenty XI FC are fourth with 3 points followed by Vanguard, United 16 FC and Khriekesa FC among the bottom liners with one point each.
Meanwhile, in today match popular New Market FC earned its first full point of tourney defeating Khriekesa FC by 3 goals to nil.
Achamo Shitio (23) brought home the first goal by carefully converting a spot kick conversion in 10th the minute, which was awarded following Seyiekhrietuo Suohu (10) of Khriekesa FC tripping Salu Kulim in the danger zone. Referee also penalsied Suohu with a yellow card. Thereafter, a minute before the breather half, Menguzelie Rutsa (11) doubled the tally to lead the first half. Skipper Rhitso Mero (10) confirmed the team’s full points in 78th minute with the third goal.
Cheneibemo Tungoe (18) of New Market FC was also cautioned for unsporting behavior.
