Kohima Football League-2: Ziekezou FC beat New Market FC


Kohima, July 19: At the end of the first round of the ongoing Kohima Football League-2 at local ground here, defending champion’s Ziekezou Football Club holds the top spot winning two games.
Out of the seven teams competing in the premier capital league organised by Kohima Town Club, Ziekezou is the only club to have played two matches and won both to top the chart with 6 points.
In today’s match both sides started on equal footing and were unable to make any decisive move. Finally Ziekezou FC skipper Neikethozo Yhome (7) managed to break the New Market defence line to find the back of the net in the 40th minute.
In the second half too Ziekezou dominated the game and made some quick attacks but Mhasibeituo Yhome (11) failed to find the nets in the 50th minute. Even as he managed to beat rival custodian Lhiwete Koza and was around the six yard box but his shoot went off the mark for a goal kick while couple of target shots by Punürü Nienu (10) were excellently thwarted by Lhiwete.
President of Angami Sports Association Viliehu Nguzhü was the match patron for the day.
