Sechü-Zubza knocks Ziekezou; set to be champs

Kohima, August 18: Debutants Sechü-Zubza are all set to be champion of the ongoing 2nd edition of the premier soccer tournament – Kohima Football League organized by Kohima Town Club at Local Ground here.
Playing the crucial penultimate match of the tourney, Sechü-Zubza thrashed Khriekesa FC 4-0 to earn full points and be on top at 23 points with one more match left.
Ziekezou FC are is second position with 21 points and also have one more match to play.
The first five minutes seemed to be disheartening for the league toppers as fifth positioned Khriekesa FC made continued attacks but failed the finishing touch to make the lead.
Eventually, it was the debutants Sechü-Zubza made their stride through Neikhotso Nagi (26) off Petevizo Kezieo (7) cross in 6th minute while Ruokuovolie Phewhuo (17) though could have given the equalizer for Khriekesa his shot went off target in the 11th minute.
In the 12th minute a good interception by Khriekesa custodian Neimezo barred Sechü-Zubza the the second lead foiling Petevizo attempt.
In an disappointing moment for Khriekesa in 21st minute, Velukho (11) feeble shot into the free nets flick overlapping custodian Lhusisielie Meyase (77) was safely ccleared by defender Zeaneikho Miasalhou (19) from goal mouth.
In 24th minute custodian Meyase made an excellent dive to the left to thwart a header from Vimelie Chase (14) of Khriekesa FC.
Unfortunately, Sechü-Zubza found the 2nd lead through an own goal by Khriekesa defender Akuo-o (5) while trying to clear Nagi’s strike to end the first half with 2 goal lead.
In the second half, Shiirhosiil Zhotso (9) scored in 82nd min and Hanglen Chang (12) in 87th min to finish the game.
Both Letkhokai Kuki (14) and Petevizo Kezieo (7) of Sechii Zubza FC were caution with a yellow card.
Meanwhile, the league will be suspended for two days i.e., August 20 – 21. The league will be resumed back on 22nd August. The fixtures for the remaining matches will be updated soon.
