Kohima DTF reviews COVID-19 status

Dimapur, June 19: Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 in its virtual meeting held on June 19 reviewed the COVID-19 status in the district. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie.


Minister in-charge for Kohima district, Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor Dr Neikiesalie Kire, Advisor Medo Yhokha, Sr. SP Kohima Kevithutuo Sophie, CMO Kohima Dr Vezokholu Theyo and other DTF members participated in the meeting.
The DTF felt that the improvement in the present situation in the area of testing, positivity rate, hospitalisation and vaccination in the district was in view of various lockdown measures implemented so far. Keeping that in mind, the DTF has decided to strictly enforce and monitor the implementation of the lockdown measures put in place by the Government during this lockdown.
On the vaccination drive, which has been scaled up with additional outreach sessions by the medical team targeting all eligible beneficiaries to get the vaccine, the DTF informed that all required measures have been undertaken to achieve the target of vaccinating all eligible beneficiaries in the urban and rural areas under the district.


The meeting also deliberated about opening of more shops put forth by the KCCI, where the DTF informed that the district adopts only which have been exempted as per the directives issued by the Government.
Moreover, the DTF observed that with more relaxations, increase of mobility was a concern, therefore it was decided to put forward to the HPC if situation comes to certain comfortable extent. (Page News Service)
