Kohima DTF on COVID-19 formed


Dimapur, February 15: The Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 was formed with DC Kohima as chairperson and members include Chief Medical Officer, Superintendent of Police, Medical Superintendent, Chief Veterinary Officer, District Surveillance Officer, District Epidemologist, Senior Medical Officer, Medical Officer and co-opted members.
The DTF held its first meeting in the DPDB’s conference hall, Kohima on February 15 and discussed on the current status and level of preparedness and the activities carried out so far in regard to the COVID-19 in the district.
Discussing on the difficulties faced by the medical personnel in pursuing people who had recently visited the affected countries, the DTF stressed on the importance to self declare of having travelled to the affected countries by giving information as per the self declaration form provided by the Medical Department. The members also dwelled on the importance to create awareness on the issue at various platforms and to sensitize the citizens to cooperate with the medical department and to come forward with the self declaration form or report to the authority for preventive measures.
The DTF also decided to appeal the public to share any information of any persons with travel history to China or affected countries from January 15 to self declare or report to the numbers provided: Helpline – 8837093602 and 7005464959, which has been activated to maintain the Surveillance Data Base.
Meanwhile the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, Dr Hoito informed that all levels of health workers of the district will be activated with necessary information in this regard.
