Kohima DPDB meeting held


Dimapur, May 16: The monthly meeting of Kohima District Planning and Development Board for the month of May was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Kohima, Annop Khinchi IAS at DPDB conference hall, Kohima on Wednesday.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, District Planning Officer and member secretary DPDB, Kohima, Pudusul Luho informed the members that the report of Village Adoption Committees will be reviewed by the Core Committee and the exit programme will be held on June 15.
On construction of toilets at SP Kohima Complex under SBM Urban Kohima, the Board decided to refer the matter to the Urban Department as clarified by the PHE (Urban Division).
On the agenda of registration of societies, the members from each societies briefed the house on their ongoing activities, aims and its objective and with the recommendation from the screening committee, the house decided to approve it for further submission to the Government.
Niji Kath felicitated
The DPDB Kohima also felicitated Niji Kath who secured 1st division with highest aggregate marks amongst Government schools from Kohima District at its 11th HSLC Examination Topper 2019 felicitation programme today.
Niji Kath in her short speech stated that it was a great pleasure to come out with flying colors as well as attending such prestigious felicitation programme and thanked the DPDB for organizing the programme. She said that over the years since her schooling days, she had aimed to excel in exam and with her untiring efforts, unrelenting parental care, expert and knowledgeable teachers, she could achieve this and thanked her teachers and parents for their supports.
DC Kohima, Anoop Khinchi IAS congratulated her for her success and added that it was a proud privilege to acknowledge such achiever who confronted all odds and made it this far. He lauded her parents for bringing up and supporting their daughter to this success and stated that the role of parents in motivating their children was very important.
DC also said that Government schools have the best resources in regard to teachers and materials availability, he encouraged the schools to make the best use of it to have more success stories in future.
Ahichu Kath, father of Niji Kath and Meyawabang Headmaster of Government High School, Botsa also spoke during the occasion.
