Kohima Diocese gets 109th Priest

Dimapur, January 2: Deacon Alex GwatiloTepwas was ordained priest for the diocese of Kohima on December 31 by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima at Tseminyu. Deacon Alex is the 109th priest for the Diocese of Kohima. Over 40 priests concelebrated with the Bishop in the solemn ceremony.
Deacon Alex committed to the order of priesthood with the motto “I Chose You” John 15:16.
The Bishop in his homily, while thanking the family and village for offering DeaconAlex for the service of God in the Church, exhorted the candidate to be humble, building close intimacy with Jesus through the celebration of the Eucharist and prayer. He exhorted the new priests to stay in touch with the family and friends who can be source of strength in difficult moments of priestly ministry.
The felicitation programme was organized in the same venue. R. Khing, Advisor, Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Services, Women Resources Development also congratulated Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep for taking the bold step to serve God and his people. “It is a pride for the Rengmas and Nagas in general,” he said.
Fr. Alex GwatiloTepthanked all those who made him possible to stand at the altar. He requested the people of God to pray for him.
