Kohima, April 1: The Kohima District administration today distributed relief rations to identified daily wage earners in the State capital at the relief camp set up at Kohima Local Ground. The ration included rice, dal, mustard oil and chilli powder.
The relief ration will be distributed regularly to all daily wage earners in Kohima including those that are from outside the State.
The Kohima District administration but said that the relief rations will be distributed only during the lockdown relaxation period on weekdays from 10 am to 2 pm. Deputy Commissioner
Kohima Gregory Thejawelie said the administration has targeted those migrant wage workers who earn their living on daily basis.
Meanwhile Kohima district administration also provided essential commodities to the Nagaland University campus students as they have ran out of ration.
The State Government has assured of essential commodities to all those daily wage earners and migrant workers and asked them not to panic.
The Government said on account of COIVID-19 lockdown 35,500 qtl of rice will be provided to all homeless, stranded people, migrant labourers, daily wage earners, old age homes, orphanages, self-financed government hostels and villages whose supply of essential commodities is affected.
