KLC conducts awareness programme

Dimapur, August 18: Kohima Law College conduct an awareness programme on “Know Your Rights & Entitlement” at Don Bosco College, Kohima on August 16. The resource persons were Alemtemsu Atsungchanger, A. Akongla Phom, Medovizo Solo, Randanbemo E. Kikon and Vinguse-u Yashu and the topics presented included consumer rights, food safety & standard act, Lokayukta, National Food Security Act, environment, human rights, state consumer helpline toll free number 1800-345-3701, Street Vendors Act 2014 & Public Services Act.
Taking advantage of the awareness campaign, Kezhokhoto Savi who is also NVCO president appealed the State Government to honour the direction of the Supreme Court of India where a dateline is given to the Government of Nagaland to set up Lokayukta in Nagaland.
Savi also asked the political party especially the ruling party or PDA not to deduct certain percentage of public fund in the name of ‘party fund’ or ministers/ advisor/ secretary ‘commission’ as no Government agency or minister or ruling political party has no right to deduct any fund meant for human resources and infrastructural developmental works.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Lanukumla, Assistant Professor, Don Bosco College and vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Professor Aosunep on behalf of Don Bosco College, Kohima. (Page News Service)
