Kohima, October 2: The Kitsubozou colony, Kohima, today celebrated 53rd Kitsubozou Panchayat Day at the Panchayat Hall premises.
Kitsubozou boasts with the cleanest ward for two consecutive year (2020/ 2021) under Kohima Municipal Council.
The colony has introduced social work on every last Saturday of the month, which contributes to clean environment of the colony, according to Kitsubozou Panchayat general secretary Aziebu Theyo.
This achievement was a team effort, starting from the sectors to the Sanitation Committee, Theyo said while presenting the annual report of the panchayat.
To ease traffic movement and to streamline random parking along the circular road within its jurisdiction, the Kitsubozou Youth Society has banned double parking and private reservation. It has also drawn parking lines and placed No Parking sign boards.
The Panchayat has imposed closure of shops within its jurisdiction on Sundays. Pharmacies, Barber shops and medical practitioner institutes are only allowed to open on Sundays, the report stated.
Sanitation Committee report was presented by sanitation secretary Neingusazo Mechiilho and treasurer report by Neilie Sachii, treasurer Kitsubozou Panchayat. Audit Committee report and School Management Committee report was also presented at the programme.
GB Medochiilie Khezhie also delivered short speech.
The programme was chaired by Kitsubozou Panchayat finance secretary Sarhiinyi Shiipao while assistant general secretary Kuorielie Terhase invoked God’s blessings.
Neizelanuo Chielie presented special number while vote of thanks was proposed by Kitsubozou Panchayat vice chairman Visakholie Zatsu.
The Election Commissioner Kekuose Rikha declared the new team of Kitsubozou Panchayat for the tenure 2023-26.
The new team will be headed by Dzieseneilie Sachii as chairman. Vice Chairman- Visakholie Zatsu, General Secretary- Atoulie Pienyii, Asst. General Secretary-Ruokuohetuo Mechiilho, Finance Secretary-Aziebu Theyo, Treasurer-cum-Banker-Kuorielie Terhase, Sanitation Secretary-Neingusazo Mechiilho, Property Secretary- Zasevolhou Medeo, Social & Culture secretary- Kezevituo Linyii and Popfiiyi Kezo as publicity & information secretary.
Rikha informed that the handing and taking over ceremony between the old and new team be done within 15 days as per the rule.
The Election Commissioner extended best wishes to the new team prayed that they will uphold the community to a higher place.
Panchayat new chairman Dzieseneilie Sachii thanked the Kitsubozou community for reposing their faith to the new team and sought the support of each and every individual for the welfare and progress of the colony.
He also thanked outgoing chairman Vimhalie Pienyii and his team given their best efforts and service to the colony.
