DIMAPUR, JUNE 28: A 2-day farmers’ training on focusing of Horticultural crops under aspirational District Kiphire, has begun today. The programme is sponsored by the Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema, and organised by the district Horticulture Office, Kiphire, at the Hopongkyu Memorial Hall,
The training programme will conclude on June 28, informs DPRO Kiphire, in a press release.
On day one, Resource persons in the technical session were Hesulo (HI) and Imtiwapang (HA). They spoke on package and practices of focused horticultural crops through power point presentations
Around 50 farmers attended the first day’s training that also saw an interactive session with the farmers.
During the training, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Mohammad Ali Shihab (IAS) spoke briefly encouraging the trainees. He said horticulture is an intensive subset of agriculture and that is socially important because it improves on how we live as well as repairing the environment and personal aesthetics. He further encouraged the farmers to take the opportunity which the Government has offered for the development in the district.
The programme was presided by District Horticulture Officer (DHO) Senkalemba P Seeds were also distributed to all farmers who attended the training.
