Kiphire DPDB approves LADP


Dimapur, August 13: The Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held in the DC’s conference hall, Kiphire on August 13. Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, Kashiho, who is the DPDB chairman, presided the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner, Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS in his opening remark thanked all the district officers for supporting and rendering their time during the disaster caused by the landslide which cut off lifeline road of Kiphire. He urged the district officer to remain in the station and coordinate with the district administration for good and noble cause of the District.
Kashiho also expressed his happiness to the police and IR Kiphire for helping the district during the natural calamities in the district.
Kiphire Roads & Bridges department stated that road at Meluri sub division is blocked again but in order to clear the blockage, the Department has deployed man power and JCBs, and the road will be cleared soon.
There is still shortage of essential commodities in Kiphire district and if rain continue to pour down the situation will be worsen. SDO Kiphire, Longdiba informed the board that one truck load of essential commodities has reached Kiphire district, provided by the Supply Department. The District administration also informed the house that at least 1000 bags of rice is needed to be stocked for the district.
The DPDB Kiphire unanimously approved the Local Area Development programme amounting to Rs 197.50 lakh for the district development purpose.
The Minister informed that street lights need to be provided to all the villages under Kiphire district through NRE and to develop economical stone block cutting, machines will be distributed to all the villages under Kiphire district through some schemes. He sought full cooperation of all the district officers to create good worksmanship and bring changes in the district.
