Kigwema village holds meet with VAC

Dimapur, September 24: The Kigwema village authorities met with the Village Adoption Committee (VAC) on September 24 at Kigwema Council Hall and deliberated on areas where VAC and the village can work together. Kigwema village has been adopted from 14th Southern Angami Constituency under Kohima District Planning & Development Board for the year 2019-20.
Various areas where development, improvement and practical knowledge or skills can be provided for the benefit of the village were put forward by the village authorities to the committee.
The convenor of the committee, SDO(C) Jakhama, Alemyapang Longchar gave a brief objective of the VAC and how this ‘bottoms up’ approach to planning and reporting has been beneficial. He added that through this the best practices of village/wards can be emulated in other villages also.
The VAC comprising of members from department of Youth Resource, Kohima College, Home Guard & Civil Defence, Veterinary, PHED, Treasury, Culture, Rural Development, Soil & Water Conservation will be working alongside with the village to provide not just assistance, guidance but also provide necessary know how in different areas concerned so that it can be sustained and developed further.
