Kohima, December 6: Khiamnuingan tribe emerged victorious at the Hornbill tug-of-war competition held at Kisama on Thursday. The event was organized by the Department Youth Resources & Sports.
The final match was played between Khiamnuingan and Ao tribe with Khiamnuingan tribe winning the final round to claim the first prize and was awarded Rs 20,000, while Ao tribe, the runners-up, received Rs 10,000.
The competition saw 13 tribes with 8 members from each tribe playing best-of-3 rounds.
Minster Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Metsubu Jamir gave away the prize to the champion of tug of war 2018 while Advisor, School Education K T Sukhalu gave away the prize to the first runner up. (Page News Service)
