Dimapur, May 2: Kidima Gazetted Officers’ Forum (KGOF) organised Awareness Programme on Health, Career Guidance & Skill Development in collaboration with Kidima Youth Organisation & Kidima Students’ Union with the motto, “By Virtue & Merit”, at Community Hall, Kidima on April 27.
KGOF President, Dr. Kedise Pucho while delivering keynote address said the main objective of the programme was to create awareness and sensitize the people in the areas of Health, Career Guidance and Skill Development by engaging their own members as the resource persons.
He said the Forum has been working for the welfare and wellbeing of the village as a whole and the Forum in particular over the last few years.
Stressing on the importance of meritocracy, he urged all the members and the young student participants to work hard and develop the spirit of competitiveness in their respective fields so as to bring laurels to the community. He also asked them not to forget about their parents’ love and concerns on them. Instead, he urged them to be sincere, strive hard and achieve their set goals so as to make their parents happy.
Dr. N Sezo Rote, Senior Medical Officer, CHC Medziphema and Dr. Krosakhol Pucho, Consultant, CIHSR, Dimapur gave power point presentation on Diabetes, Hypertension & Bone Health and Emergency Care in Rural Areas respectively.
Dr. Vichovol Temi, Dental Surgeon, Bethel Medical Centre gave a Power Point Presentation on Oral Hygiene. Dr. Temsu, Medical Officer, CHC Medziphema and Dr. Kedusato Kotso, Medical Officer, PHC Kezocha and staff assisted the Health Camp.
Altogether, 220 patients turned up to avail free medical services and 65 patients availed free ultrasound. During the camp, medicines and ultrasound were given free of cost.
Dr. Kedise Pucho, Er. Tol Pucho, Nongozo Rikha and Kevileto Rote were the resource persons for career guidance while Suvil Ltu and Dr. Kedise Pucho were the resource persons for Skill Development during the programme.
Short speeches were also delivered by KYO President, Kizovol Jacob Phinyo and KSU President, Viketozo Kintso. Krovito George Rikha, Catechist, St. Xavier’s Church, Kidima invoked God’s blessing while greetings was proposed by Head GB Kidima village, Dusii Tholre. Thanksgiving prayer was offered by Pastor, Baptist Church Kidima, Tepuwhekho Thokhwe.
