Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü is NASA wrestling champion

Kohima, February 6: It was a day for Kohima Village to celebrate as four of its wrestlers won the top positions in the 61st Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Wrestling Meet held at Khouchiezie local ground here Thursday.
In the final bout, 21-year old Kezhaselhuo-o Pienyü comfortably defeated Khrietsonyü Whourie (21). He had earlier defeated defending champion Menuosetuo Yiese in the semi-finals. Menuosetuo’s brother Seyiejkhrietuo Yiese emerged fourth place winner.
The top four winners received cash award of Rs 80000, Rs 50000, Rs 30000 and Rs 20000 respectively.
Earlier, Chief Engineer (National Highways) Kezhazelhou Theünuo graced the inaugural session as the special guest.
Meanwhile, altogether 40 Under-16 wresters of the area would be competing in the first ever Naga style wrestling for the juniors on Friday starting at 9 am. Advisor NASA and PS to Chief Minister, Neiketouzo Lenguruse will grace the valedictory function of the two day NASA meet as guest of honour.
