Kenye pursues waterway  projects in Nagaland

Kohima, September 19: Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP, K. G. Kenye, who is also chairman of Nagaland Inland Waterway Board (NIWB) along with OSD of NIWB Thomas took up Inland Waterway projects in the state of Nagaland with the Inland Waterway Authority of India (IWAI) at New Delhi on September 17 last.
The MP and OSD had fruitful meeting with the Director General of Ministry of Shipping Shenkar and the Vice Chairman of IWAI.
So far, three waterways in the State of Nagaland have been declared as National Waterway, which includes Tizu& Zungki NW – 101, Dhansiri NW-34 and Dikhu NW-35.
Out of three, Tizu & Zungki is under active consideration of IWAI to be funded by World Bank. (Page News Service)
