Dimapur, August 19: The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has expressed shock that despite its objection and clear instruction given by the Chief Secretary, the Department of Technical Education had failed to rectify its notification vide No.DTE/CSAB-NEUT/1/2018-19 resulting in several applicants with doubtful documents allowed to appear JEE 2018 and who are now placed in the merit list as well.
“The irregularities as detected by the parents are of serious nature with far reaching consequences once precedent is created and the department proceeds with counselling and nomination along with the doubtful candidates,” it said in a press release.
“We are made to understand that the administration had issued indigenous certificates to several candidates who are not qualified under the criteria laid down in the notification No. AR-8/8/76 dated 28th of April, 1977.”
In view of this, the NTC request the department to keep the cases of those doubtful candidates in abeyance till the administration rectify its indigenous certificates through standard procedures to establish the antecedents of the candidates in question. It also cautioned the concerned administration not to play with the rights of the indigenous citizens of the State. (Page News Service)
