KDCC reiterates demand for cancellation of IFB issued by UDD

Dimapur, November 4: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) held an emergency meeting today at KDCC office in Congress Bhavan, Kohima.
The meeting deliberated at length on the 29th October, 2019 Press Statement issued by KDCC President Kevi Vizo with regard to the contentious issue of e-Procurement Notice Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by Urban Development Department Bid No. EE/UDD/AMRUT/TENDR/2016-17(Pt) dated 18th October, 2019.
The meeting reiterated and resolved to stand by its earlier demand for cancellation of the said IFB as it is it in total contravention of the laid down norms for any interested bidder to submit a tender.
Today’s meeting also unanimously decided to move for legal course of action if the department concern fails to cancel the present tender and invite fresh tender omitting IFB Sl. No. 11, wherein the Department has asked the bidders to quote the bid as per/above NPWD Schedule of Rate (SOR) 2016 and that bids quoted below NPWD SOR 2016 will not be accepted.
The KDCC extended appreciation to the concern citizens of the state who have come forward through Open Letter published in the local dailies supporting its cause of standing against corrupt practices in the government departments.
KDCC urged upon all right thinking citizens and civil societies to come forward so that such malpractice within the government departments, which is hampering development and progress, can be rooted out.
Meanwhile, KDCC was surprised over the silence of the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union and Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors Union for not looking into the concern and welfare of the contractors and tenderers despite the issue being brought to their notice through our earlier statement.
The KDCC appealed to them to rise to the occasion for the general welfare and not just think on individual affiliation.
