Dimapur, February 3: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) held a constituency wise consultative meeting with office bearers of seven Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC) along with their frontal organizations and KDCC general secretaries in-charge of the frontals at KDCC office in Congress Bhavan, Kohima on January 31
KDCC officials led by president Kevi Vizo listened to the problems and concern shared by the officials from 8th Western Angami ACCC, 9th Kohima Town ACCC, 10th Northern Angami-I ACCC, 11th Northern Angami-II ACCC, 12th Tseminyu ACCC, 14th Southern Angami-I ACCC, 15th Southern Angami-II ACCC, Kohima District Mahila Congress, Kohima District NSUI and Kohima District Youth Congress.
The consultative meeting was convened to re-strengthen the party set-up from ACCC as it the backbone of the party. The ACCCs and frontal organizations under KDCC were encouraged to prepare for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections by educating the voters with the peoples welfare policies and programmes of the Congress party.
During the deliberations it was emphasized that such consultative meetings should be held regularly between the DCC and ACCC executives and frontal organizations under DCC in order to develop togetherness and better understanding despite being in opposition for more than 15 years.
As the grassroots level functionaries of the party, the discussion were also focused on giving free hand to the ACCC and frontals chiefs so as to achieve better result oriented performance.
The consultations also viewed that the district Congress leaders at all levels should be humble and welcoming those willing to join the party.
Meanwhile, the consultative meeting while reiterating the January 25, 2019 stand of the KDCC also questioned the decision of the NDPP-led PDA government’s to convene a consultative meeting with the political parties and Naga civil societies on Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016.
