K-Pop artiste Jang Hanbyul to perform in Dimapur today

Dimapur, July 19: K-Pop artiste and television personality, Jang Hanbyul will be performing at IMC Hall, Dimapur on Saturday. He will have two more fan meets and mini concerts at Diphu (July 21) and Kohima (July 23) during his maiden tour in India.
Talking to the media about the concerts here at Hotel Grand Tizu, Dimapur, Hanbyul, who wasn’t expecting a huge fan base for K-Pop in the country owing to the presence of a huge entertainment industry like Bollywood said that he found Nagaland “definitely different” from the mainland India and added that heard of Nagaland being a place of hopes and dreams.
Calling his trip to India the longest he has ever taken, he said that coming to India was one of the three big dreams of his, the other two being going to Antarctica and Africa.
Hanbyul, who is also a dentist by profession, on the occasion said that he is amazed that K-Pop has gotten so big and expressed his surprise at the reactions of the young fans at the airport, which, according to him, filled him with positivity and energy after such a tiring journey.
He mentioned that he would also be performing a few Hindi songs too as well as plans to taste the local brews and food.
Explaining why he agreed to come to Dimapur when he was approached, he said that he did so as he had never been to Dimapur and it is always interesting to meet new people and visit new places.
On the occasion, he left the message of hard work to the young fans of him and said that if they can do the hard work and have what they need, they can be successful in the industry.
A representative of Pinkbox Events, one of the organizers of the concerts, said that K-Pop is only growing popular over the years and though a section of the society sees it moving away from own culture and embracing new cultures, in the end music is music. She also mentioned that the success of MONT last year definitely gave them a boost to bring more artistes here.
Alobo Naga said that the concerts have been organized for the love of music and K-Pop as well as informed that there will be 13 groups/individuals that would be doing the opening acts spread over the three venues. They were selected out of the 51 groups/individuals enrolled in the online contest.
Musik-A in association and KACC are the other organizers of the events.
