JWO condemns rape of mentally challenged girl

Dimapur, September 17: The Jotsoma Women Organization (JWO) has condemned the brutal act of one Vizielie Peseyie (65yrs) of Jotsoma village, who had sexually assaulted a mentally challenged minor girl on several occasion and was caught red handed on September 9.
In a press release issued by JWO chairperson, Rokolhuvono Medoze and secretary, Vilako-u Nakhro, the organization said the accused had confessed during questioning by the JWO on
September 12 in front of the villagers, after which he has been handed over to the police for the law to take its own course of action.
The JWO demanded that the culprit must be brought to book and the victim must receive speedy justice and compensation.
It appealed to the concerned authority to award strongest punishment as per the law of the land so that this kind of inhuman and merciless act should not be repeated in the civilized society.
It also warned the authority not to grant bail under any circumstances and cautioned any individual or organization not to try to bail him out. (Page News Service)
