Dimapur, April 2: A jungle fire at Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, Kohima was prevented from further spreading with the timely action of the quick response team from Fire Station Kohima North under the command of ASI Neitho-u Keditsu.
The cause of the fire incident is unknown, but few acres stretch of forest was destroyed by the fire. There was no casualty.
Meanwhile, a quick response team from Fire Station Wokha prevented fire from spreading to jungles at Merapani Road, Wokha today.
On receiving information of jungle fire at WTC Garbage Dumping area, Merapani Road, Wokha Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Wokha, pressed 2 WTPs into action under the commander ASI Bentik Konyak and SI Keleseho S Tsiikrii.
The fire incident occurred due to garbage burning at the dumping site which spread further to the adjoining forest/jungle.
However due to timely response from fire team averted any eventuality and brought the fire under control and also from further spreading to the adjoining forest and villages. There was no casualty. (Page News Service)
