Jungle fires in Noklak, Dimapur & Kohima

Dimapur, March 2: Jungle fires were reported in Noklak, Dimapur and Kohima on March 1.


According to a press release issued by Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, a fire call was received on March 1 near KBCA Komking, Noklak and immediately a team from Tuensang fire station stationed at Noklak proceeded to control the fire.
Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & fire personnel were pressed into action. It took Fire Team 1 hour and 30 minutes to combat the fire. Cause of fire is could not be ascertain, there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander ASI Mziegwangteing.
Dimapur: Another Fire call was received at March 1 at School of Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Dimapur. Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima proceeded to control the fire.
Plantation and crops were destroyed in the inferno. Cause of fire could not be ascertain, there was no casualty. Due to timely information and response, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading further. It took fire team 3 hours to combat the fire. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Kenyuyhun Kent.
Kohima: In yet another incident on March 1 at Meriema Village, below New High Court, Kohima, Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (North) were pressed into action. Due to timely information and response, fire was controlled and prevented from spreading. It took Fire Team nearly 2 hours to combat the fire. Cause of fire could not be ascertain, there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Inaka. (Page News Service)
