Dimapur, December 9: MLA, 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency, Keneizhakho Nakhro inaugurated the Jotsoma Village Gate along the Bypass Road, Jotsoma on December 9. The Village Gate was built by the ‘Thejavakhrie Tshü,’ (a social group comprising of villagers from Jotsoma village in the age group between 60 to 65 years).
Nakhro stated that the construction of the village gate is significant as it acts as a demarcation of Jotsoma village with the adjoining village, and also to have a clear boundary and avoid misunderstanding on boundary issues later on. He applauded the ‘Thejavakhrie’ group for taking the task of building the gate for the village in spite of the group members mostly retired and in their 60’s, adding their exemplary work will be a guiding light for the village.
During the inauguration of the Jotsoma village gate, village council vice chairman, Kepelhukho Senotsu, Head GB, Jotsoma village, shared about the history, meaning and significance of building village gates. Thejavakhrie group members, Kekoseto Nakhro, Kekhrieseto Peseyie, Rev. Savito Nagi and Kekongulhu Sano also shared about the history and activities of the group.
