Dimapur, January 22: Skipper of Nagaland Ranji cricket team, Jonathan Rongsen became the first Naga to score a double century after his unbeaten double ton (200 n.o.) on the final day of the Ranji Trophy match against Bihar at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
According to Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) officials, Jonathan is not only the first Naga to score a double century in Ranji Trophy but is also the first North East native to achieve the feat.
While cricketers not native of the region but playing for NE states have scored double centuries for the states they represent, Jonathan Rongsen is the first native NE cricketer to score a double century in Ranji Trophy, NCA officials confirmed.
