Jiten Gogoi murder: PAC serves 10-day ultimatum to Dimapur Dist Admn to nab culprit

Dimapur, September 27: The Public Action Committee (PAC) Dimapur today served an ultimatum to the Dimapur district administration to nab the culprit involved in the killing of Jiten Gogoi within 10 days and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land. It also said investigation report should be made public and reveal details, failing which the PAC would decided its own course action.
The PAC also reminded the State government on the enactment of the Criminal Control Act to deter habitual offenders who have become jail birds, to bring peace and justice and decided to give one more month time to the Government till October 31, 2020.
It also expressed shock and dismay on the Power project at Pudumpukhiri, Dimapur which was stalled due to the NPGs demand issue and urged the Government to act immediately in the interest of the general public otherwise it will not remain a silent spectator.
In a meeting held today with the tribal hoho leaders, frontal organizations and transport agencies at Western Chakhesang Hoho office today, the PAC clarified that on March 5, 2020, the tribal hohos and the frontal organizations decided to let PAC continue although NCD has dissolve it, however, the public felt the necessity for it’s existence, had approved to let PAC continue in discharging it’s responsibility in the interest of the general public,
The meeting expressed resentment on the so called NCD office secretary whose existence is in question and is awaiting Court judgement is trying to discourage and create confusion in the PAC activities.
The PAC requested every stake holders to extend cooperation to make Dimapur a better place for its citizens
PAC also deliberated on the demands of the transporters which was served to the State Government for removal of all illegal collection of money in all the gates and resolve to support it.
