JD-U to vote against CAB


Dimapur, January 23: The JD-U, an alliance partner of the NDPP-led PDA coalition in Nagaland, has informed that the party is against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 and the JD-U will be voting against the Bill if it comes up I the Rajya Sabha.
In a press release, JD-U NEEC chairman, Senchumo NSN Lotha said a meeting of the national office bearers of the party chaired by national president Nitish Kumar reaffirmed the party commitment to stand against any communal forces that threatens to destroy the secular fabric of the country and shall leave no stones unturned to safeguard the constitution of India.
The release informed that a high power delegation of the JDU consisting of Prasant Kishor, KC Tyagi, Afaque Ahmed Khan, vice president, secretary general, general secretary i/c of Northeast along with NEEC chairman, Senchumo NSN Lotha will visit Guwahati on January 28 to take stock of the situation arising out of the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 by interacting with all the stake holders.
