Dimapur, April 6: The Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) has once again reminded the Government of Nagaland about the representation submitted to the Chief Minister on March 19, setting the deadline of 31st March 2021 “to issue an Ordinance in order to promulgate RIIN”.
The JCPI made it clear that there can be only a single cut-off year for both ILP and RIIN, that is 1st December 1963, the Statehood Day, which is non-negotiable.
In a press release issued by JCPI convenor, Atomi Swu and secretary, Tia Longchar, the JCPI appealed to all tribal apex hohos to attend a consultative meeting for the next course of action as the Government of Nagaland has not been forthcoming in its decision.
It said a convenient place, date and time will be notified at the earliest.
It further thanked the thousands of supporters and requested each and everyone to be prepared for any eventualities. (Page News Service)
