
2nd edition of Women’s Champions Trophy
Dimapur, June 9: Japfü Dazzlers will lock horn with Saramati Warriors in the finals of the 2nd edition of the Women’s Champions Trophy on Saturday at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
Japfü Dazzlers made its way to the finals by defeating Pauna Queen by 9 wickets today.
Having won the toss, Pauna Queens opted to bat first and in the stipulated 25 overs managed to put up 75 runs on the scoreboard losing 7 wickets. Kajenkala was the only notable scorer with 28 runs to save their blushes.
Japfü Dazzlers completed their task of chasing down the target of 76 runs in just 13.5 overs with contributions from Najmeen 12 runs while the captain Alemienla 36 runs and Talirenla 15 runs remained not out to guide their team to a comfortable win by 9 wickets.
Alemienla was adjudged the player of the match for her 36 runs knock and her bowling performance of claiming 1 wicket in 5 overs with 1 maiden over conceding only 16 runs.
The match between Tiyi Strikers versus Terogvu Titans and Saramati Warriors Versus Puliebadze Slingers got abandoned due to rain.
The much anticipated finals of the Women’s Champions Trophy will be played between the two table toppers Japfü Dazzlers and Saramati Warriors on Saturday (10/06/2023) at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima where Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister Women Resource Development and Horticulture, Government of Nagaland will grace the finals and the prize distribution ceremony as the Special Guest.
The Nagaland Cricket Association has invited all sports enthusiasts to come witness the finals and be a part of the occasion as Nagaland Cricket celebrates Women in Sports.
