Dimapur, June 4: The District Surveillance Team Dimapur has expressed regret over what it claimed was the “unintentional error” committed by the team in “mistakenly” sending a Chennai returnee to Peren District who was later tested COVID-19 positive.
District Surveillance Officer, Dimapur, Dr Imtiwabong Aier said on June 3, 17 passengers of Shramik Special Chennai Express Train who tested negative were transported from Dimapur to Peren District at around 7:30 pm – 8 pm. “However, on receiving the new batch of test result and upon contact tracing, it was learned that one of the positive was mistakenly sent along with the passengers sent to Peren and that she reached Jalukie,” he said.
Dr Imtiwabong Aier said the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Peren District was immediately informed of the situation and to identify and isolate the positive case so that all necessary precautions could be taken.
“We deeply regret that inspite of our best efforts this unintentional error has been made by the District Surveillance Team Dimapur during this hour of crisis,” he said. (Page News Service)
