Jailbreak in Mon, 9 inmates on the loose

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19: Nine prisoners lodged inside Mon District Jail broke out of the facility in the early hours of Saturday morning.
An official of Mon Police told Nagaland Page that the inmates managed to escape from the prison after they got hold of the keys to their cells. Police suspect that the breakout occurred at around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
The official said that search parties comprising Police personnel, Village Guards and community members are combing the area to track down the fugitives.
According to a Police notice, the nine prisoners on the loose are Ponpha Konyak (30 years), Yeanghat (24), Taoyan Konyak (38), Ampung Konyak (24), Tamwang Konyak (30), Manpha Konyak (29), Tahyao Konyak (31), Bongzel (24), and Taonyel Konyak (34).
In connection with the case, Mon Police has filed a case under Section 223/224/225 (A) of the IPC.
Also, the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma informed Nagaland Page that the measures taken in response to the incident include mobilisation of police team to track them; informing respective village councils and the Village Guards so that if they reach the village, they can be caught; and sharing information with the media and through official social media page.
