23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy
Kohima, September 25: Jakhama Youth Organisation and Teima Khe Kedima today registered win to book berth in the third round of the 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy organised by Angami Students’ Union (ASU) at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.
In the first match, Jakhama Youth Organisation comfortably won against Meriema Village Youth Organisation by 4-2.
The first goal in favor of Jakhama came from the boot of Avito Khieya (15) in the 8th minute to lead the first half. However after the lemon break, Shürhosül Zhotso (9), Rokovikho Khatso (11) and Mechievizo Khatso(13) added a goal each in 49th, 54th and 56th minutes respectively.
The 73rd minute saw Panger Sunep (2) of Jakhama scoring an own goal favouring Meriema while Khrieneituo (10) added the second in the 87th minute. Mezizoto of JYO and Vizovoto of MVYO were cautioned for unsporting behaviour. Avito Khieya (15) of JYO was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the second match, Teima Khe Kidima blanked Chedema Warriors FC by 3 goals. The first half witnessed a head to head fight between the two teams as they were unable to make a breakthrough. However, in the second half, Vizopa Phinyo (16) drew the first blood in the 51st minute followed by Pupisa Pucho (12) doubling it in the 58th minute while Kenopol Thokwe (11) sealed the scoreboard in the 61st minute. Kenopol Thokwe was awarded the man of the match.
