Dimapur, August 3: In the wake of incessant rain for several days causing floods in many parts of Dimapur town and it’s adjoining areas has caused grave concern in the minds of the public.
Few schools and colleges have to remain closed due to water logging in the campuses.
In order to take stock of the situation in and around Dimapur town, Minister of PHED, Government of Nagaland, Jacob Zhimomi convened an emergency meeting today which was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar IAS, who is also the Chairman of Disaster Management Committee of Dimapur district, Engineers from PWD (Road and Bridges) department, Irrigation and Flood Control and Food Corporation of India.
The minister briefed and instructed the officers to take stock of the situation immediately and make an assessment of the loss of properties caused by the natural calamities in Dimapur district.
The minister further appealed and encouraged the officers to be ready to face and take certain steps for the worst events. (Page News Service)
