Together we will change the system and strive forward for a better Nagaland, he added.
Emphasizing on the financial status of the State, Jacob said we have no resources of our own we have no trade and commerce and industries to provide job opportunity to the people in the private sector. That is why Nagaland is fully dependent on the central Government and the Government is the only source to provide jobs to the people. He informed that despite financial constrain the PDA Government is committed to give priority for development of the ENPO area to redress their grievances. Jacob also urged the people to protect and have ownership of the public properties. He further informed that water supply connection for Longleng headquarter is under process and he had apprised the central government for consideration and approval at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam in his short speech congratulated the officers and staffs of the department headed by the Minister and the Chief Engineer for completing the new EE office successfully for the welfare of the people. He asserted that it was a proud moment for the district and the Phom community to have such a beautiful building in Longleng and he was hopeful that it will bear more fruits, render best service and cater to the needs of the people. The DC also apprised the Minister and the Chief Engineer regarding lack of water supply to the district headquarter and the problems faced by the people due to scarcity of water and added that rain water is the only alternative source of water supply for the denizen of Longleng.
