Dimapur, July 27: The Joint Action Committee of Tribal Hohos on Delimitation has applauded the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA)’s resolution No. 5 of 10th July 2020 in which it categorically stated that “The PDA observes that as members of the largest democracy in the world, it is bounden duty of everyone, especially the constitutional institutions, to uphold the spirit of democracy and to strengthen the democratic foundations of this great nation.”
In a statement, JAC publicity cell acknowledged the resolution adopted at the Chief Minister’s residence, Kohima signed by Chingwang Konyak, convener, PDA & president, NDPP and Minister Temjen Imna Along, co-convener, PDA & president BJP Nagaland, as a truly political acumen of the PDA leadership.
The JAC said it expects the legislators, both the ruling and the opposition that they will ensure the democratic values and constitutional obligation as members of a Constitutional body sworn-in under oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India.
The legislators know well that Delimitation process is an Act of Parliament that must be carried out, as stated by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and reiterated by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at RCEMPA. The State Assembly is duty-bound to abide by the Constitution of India always, the statement added. (Page News Service)
