IPPI launched across Nagaland


Dimapur, March 3: National Immunization Day was launched across Nagaland on March 3.
In Tuensang, EAC Tuensang Zerutso Kesiezie launched the IPPI by administering two drops of Pulse Polio to a child at tower clock junction Tuensang Town on March 3 in presence of Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, DPO (UIP & RCH), state monitoring team JSI Communication Officer Roseline, District Supervisors team, youth pastor Mupong church and other health workers from CMO office Tuensang.
Dr.Imtijungshi, DPO, UIP & RCH, reported that 155 Polio booth centres were set up across the district to cover 8,190 estimated children in the age group of 0 to 5 years. The team members will continue the activity for two more days through house to house activities, to cover up the children who are left out in the Polio booth centres.
Jalukie: Along with the rest of the country IPPI launching programme was held at Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church on March 3.
Rajesh Monsang, PO, UNDP inaugurated and administered the first Polio drop.
Dr. Supongmenla Walling, DPO (RCH & UIP) Peren gave the key note address. She stressed about the importance of vaccination and also emphasised that to live a healthy living standard we have to start from oneself. She motivated the parents and health workers to be an ambassador to create awareness about the different activities carried out by the medical department.
Peren district total target under 0-5 years is 6975 childrens and total booth is 155.
